Mass Spectrometry Project and Sample Submission Quick Start Guide

This is the abbreviated version of the complete instructions on how to begin a project with the CZB Mass Spec Platforms (CZB-SF and CZB-CHI). The general process from start to finish is divided into 7 steps:

1. Propose a collaborative project.
2. Review the submission with Mass Spectrometry platform personnel to discuss proposal and plan.
3. Upon acceptance, submit sample information (sample metadata) to the sample submission system.
4. Arrange for sample delivery to the MS team
5. Once experiment is approved to begin, samples are processed for data acquisition.
6. Processed samples will be analyzed on the mass spectrometer(s) agreed upon. Raw data will then be searched and quantified, and rudimentarily interpreted for data quality, statistical significance, and enrichment (where applicable).
7. We will share raw data and processed data with collaborators via a shared google drive.
